Sometimes cob walls are built as retaining walls, as garden walls, or to create seperate outside spaces.
Because of the heat retention of the cob, the walls create micro-climates in which you can grow plants that would otherwise not grow in your climate! They make great first cob projects and it's fun to incorporate benches or ovens right in the wall.
