In August the Mudgirls returned to Cortes and lead a course of 15 women from all over BC. We camped out behind Trude's Cafe and spent our days sculpting the walls of Karen's sanctuary. For two weeks we mixed and stomped and sculpted and consulted the sacred plumb bob. We embedded crystals in the walls, put in shelves and arched-over windows. At the end of each work day, we swam at Hague Lake to clean up and cool off. In the evenings we had discussions about many aspects of natural healing: Homeopathy, herbal medicine, non-violent communication, permaculture, and earth-based spirituality. On our day off we had a tour of Linnaea Farm and of a house built by a crew of women. On the last two days of the course we lead the Cortes community in the building of a big beautiful garden wall at Trude's Cafe.
